Marketplace Standards

The Crafter’s Market Network

Operated by Hearthstone Enterprises, LLC

Our Promise

The Crafter’s Market Network, operated by Hearthstone Enterprises, LLC (“the Network”), is committed to creating high-quality community marketplaces that support small businesses while providing an enjoyable, organized, and family-friendly experience for shoppers, vendors, volunteers, sponsors, entertainers, and local communities.

These Marketplace Standards establish the minimum expectations for every event operated under The Crafter’s Market Network brand. While individual events may include additional requirements based on local laws, venue policies, or event themes, these standards provide the foundation for consistency, professionalism, and quality across the Network.

1. A Welcoming Environment

Every Network event should provide a safe, inclusive, and family-friendly atmosphere where visitors feel comfortable exploring, shopping, and connecting with local businesses.

We are committed to creating events that are welcoming and respectful to people of all backgrounds and abilities.

2. Professional Presentation

Every event should present a clean, organized, and professional appearance.

This includes:

  • Clearly identified vendor spaces.
  • Well-maintained common areas.
  • Professional event signage.
  • Organized layouts that encourage customer flow.
  • Clear communication before, during, and after each event.

A well-organized marketplace creates a better experience for both vendors and shoppers.

3. Quality Vendors

The Network seeks vendors who offer quality products, excellent customer service, and professional business practices.

Regardless of product category, vendors are expected to:

  • Represent their products honestly.
  • Sell only approved merchandise.
  • Maintain attractive, safe, and organized displays.
  • Conduct business professionally.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

4. Product Variety

To provide an enjoyable shopping experience, the Network strives to maintain a balanced mix of product categories whenever practical.

The Network reserves the right to:

  • Limit duplicate product categories.
  • Limit the number of vendors offering substantially similar products.
  • Curate vendor selections to improve marketplace variety.
  • Consider event themes and community interests when selecting vendors.

These decisions help create a stronger overall marketplace experience.

5. Community First

The Network exists to strengthen local communities by supporting:

  • Small businesses
  • Makers and artisans
  • Home-based businesses
  • Boutique retailers
  • Specialty food vendors
  • Nonprofit organizations
  • Local entertainers
  • Community partners

We believe successful markets strengthen local economies while creating meaningful connections within the communities we serve.

6. Customer Experience

Visitors should be able to expect:

  • Friendly and welcoming vendors.
  • Honest pricing.
  • Clean, accessible shopping areas.
  • Helpful event staff and volunteers.
  • Clearly communicated event information.
  • A positive experience from arrival through departure.

Providing an exceptional customer experience remains one of the Network’s highest priorities.

7. Vendor Experience

The Network is equally committed to providing vendors with a positive and professional event experience.

Whenever practical, organizers strive to provide:

  • Fair and transparent application processes.
  • Consistent communication.
  • Clearly published policies.
  • Organized event operations.
  • Reasonable setup and breakdown procedures.
  • Responsive support before, during, and after events.

While every effort is made to provide a successful event, participation does not guarantee attendance, customer traffic, sales, or profitability.

8. Safety Standards

Safety is a shared responsibility between organizers, vendors, volunteers, venue partners, and attendees.

Network events strive to:

  • Maintain clear emergency access routes.
  • Follow all venue safety requirements.
  • Require outdoor tents and canopies to be properly secured.
  • Promptly address known safety hazards.
  • Comply with applicable fire, health, and building regulations.

The Network reserves the right to require immediate correction of safety concerns or remove vendors whose displays present an unreasonable safety risk.

9. Integrity and Fairness

The Network values honesty, transparency, professionalism, and fairness in every aspect of event management.

We are committed to:

  • Applying policies consistently.
  • Treating vendors fairly and respectfully.
  • Communicating openly whenever possible.
  • Making decisions in the best interest of the event and its participants.
  • Continually improving through experience and feedback.

Operational decisions, including vendor selection, booth placement, policy interpretation, and event management, are made by the Network and are final.

10. Respect for Local Communities

Every Network event should reflect and respect the community in which it is held.

Organizers, vendors, volunteers, and partners should:

  • Support local businesses whenever practical.
  • Respect venue rules and regulations.
  • Protect public and private property.
  • Leave venues clean and in good condition.
  • Foster positive relationships with venue partners, local governments, sponsors, and community organizations.

11. Continuous Improvement

The Network is committed to ongoing improvement.

Following each event, organizers may evaluate:

  • Vendor feedback.
  • Customer feedback.
  • Event operations.
  • Safety procedures.
  • Marketing efforts.
  • Venue performance.
  • Overall marketplace quality.

Lessons learned from each event help strengthen future markets across the Network.
