The Crafter’s Market Network, operated by Hearthstone Enterprises, LLC (“the Network”), is committed to creating welcoming, family-friendly markets where vendors, customers, organizers, volunteers, entertainers, sponsors, venue partners, and community members can enjoy a safe, professional, and positive experience.
Every approved vendor plays an important role in maintaining an atmosphere built on respect, professionalism, integrity, and cooperation.
By participating in any event hosted by the Network, each vendor agrees to comply with the following Code of Conduct.
1. Treat Everyone with Respect
Vendors are expected to treat fellow vendors, customers, event staff, volunteers, entertainers, venue personnel, sponsors, and organizers with courtesy, professionalism, and respect at all times.
This includes:
- Speaking respectfully to others.
- Remaining patient during busy or stressful situations.
- Respecting different backgrounds, beliefs, and opinions.
- Helping create a welcoming environment for everyone.
Harassment, intimidation, discrimination, threats, bullying, abusive behavior, or any form of disruptive conduct will not be tolerated.
2. Maintain Professional Conduct
Vendors represent both their own business and the reputation of the Network.
Vendors are expected to:
- Conduct themselves professionally.
- Accurately represent their products and services.
- Honor commitments made to customers.
- Resolve customer concerns respectfully.
- Follow all event policies and organizer instructions.
- Conduct business honestly and ethically.
3. Support a Positive Vendor Community
Successful markets are built through cooperation rather than competition.
Vendors are encouraged to:
- Support fellow small businesses.
- Celebrate each other’s successes.
- Offer assistance when appropriate.
- Build positive relationships within the vendor community.
The following behavior is prohibited:
- Speaking negatively about another vendor to customers.
- Attempting to damage another vendor’s reputation.
- Interfering with another vendor’s sales.
- Deliberately recruiting customers away from neighboring booths through disruptive or aggressive behavior.
- Creating unnecessary conflict within the marketplace.
4. Follow Organizer Instructions
Event organizers and authorized staff are responsible for maintaining a safe, organized, and successful event.
Vendors agree to:
- Follow check-in procedures.
- Observe setup and breakdown schedules.
- Follow emergency instructions immediately.
- Cooperate with staff throughout the event.
- Respect decisions made by event organizers.
Decisions regarding event operations, vendor placement, safety matters, policy interpretation, and rule enforcement are made by the Network and are final.
5. Respect Booth Boundaries
Each vendor is responsible for maintaining their assigned booth space.
Vendors should:
- Keep displays within their assigned space.
- Avoid blocking walkways or neighboring booths.
- Keep booths clean, organized, and safe.
- Properly dispose of trash and packing materials.
- Respect neighboring vendors’ displays and property.
6. Create a Family-Friendly Environment
Most Network events are intended to provide a welcoming experience for families and guests of all ages.
Vendors are expected to ensure that:
- Booth displays are appropriate for the advertised audience.
- Language remains respectful.
- Music, videos, and demonstrations are suitable for public events.
- Adult-oriented products are displayed responsibly and only when specifically permitted by the Network.
7. Honest Business Practices
Vendors agree to conduct business ethically by:
- Selling only approved products.
- Accurately representing handmade, handcrafted, boutique, vintage, direct sales, cottage food, specialty, or other approved merchandise.
- Clearly displaying prices whenever practical.
- Honoring advertised prices during the event.
- Complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
8. Social Media Conduct
The Network encourages vendors to promote events and support fellow businesses.
When posting online, vendors should:
- Represent event experiences honestly.
- Avoid personal attacks or defamatory statements.
- Refrain from spreading rumors or misinformation.
- Address concerns privately with organizers whenever reasonably possible before posting publicly.
Constructive feedback is always welcomed and helps improve future events.
9. Safety First
Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Vendors must:
- Follow all venue safety requirements.
- Properly secure tents, canopies, displays, and merchandise.
- Keep aisles and emergency exits clear.
- Report hazards immediately.
- Follow emergency procedures when directed by event staff.
Failure to comply with safety requirements may result in immediate corrective action or removal from the event.
10. Photography & Media
Photos and videos may be taken during Network events for promotional purposes.
By participating, vendors acknowledge and consent to the Network photographing or recording booths, products, displays, employees, representatives, and general event activities.
These materials may be used by Hearthstone Enterprises, LLC, operating as The Crafter’s Market Network, for:
- Marketing
- Social media
- Website content
- Printed materials
- Future event promotion
No compensation shall be provided for such use.
11. Reporting Concerns
If a vendor experiences or observes:
- Harassment
- Safety concerns
- Policy violations
- Conflicts with another vendor
- Customer issues affecting the event
- Any other significant concern
They should notify an event organizer or authorized staff member as soon as possible.
The Network is committed to reviewing concerns fairly, professionally, and confidentially whenever appropriate.
12. Violations
Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in one or more of the following actions, depending on the severity of the violation:
- Verbal reminder
- Written warning
- Removal of prohibited merchandise or displays
- Temporary suspension of selling privileges
- Immediate removal from the event without refund
- Loss of eligibility for future events
- Permanent prohibition from participating in Network events
The Network reserves the right to determine the appropriate response based on the circumstances of each situation. Decisions regarding enforcement of this Code of Conduct are made solely by the Network and are final.
